Connecting Startup to investors, Telkom Initiates Indigo Demo Day Phase II 2016

23 November 2016 – To support and develop digital startups in Indonesia, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) held the Indigo Demo Day event Phase II as one of a series of incubation and acceleration for startup initiated by Telkom. Indigo Demo Day was held in Jakarta, Wednesday (23/11), which is aimed to bridge the startup with the parties including potential investors.

Director of Digital & Strategic Portfolio Indra Utoyo Telkom said in his speech, Telkom opened up opportunities for startup product synergies to be exploited into a broader business ecosystem. “Telkom will also introduce quality Indigo startup to investors in order to provide an opportunity to get a bigger investment for startups,” he said.

Indra Utoyo which oversees the Indigo Creative Nation (ICN) program said that the whole progress of ICN program will be presented to the stakeholders. “We will also introduce quality Indigo startup to investors in order to provide an opportunity to get a bigger investment for startups,” he said.

According to Indra, Indigo Demo Day also provides a startup product synergy opportunities to be exploited in a broader business ecosystem. Therefore, Indigo Demo Day become a container positioned for the founder and his crew to develop his startup business more widely.

The Demo Day event was packed with a pitching and exhibition models so that startup can develop wider networking trough interaction with the visitors. Every startup was given 7 minutes presentation in front of the parties so that the presentation skills improve efficiently, yet convincing to be done by the pilot of the business.

The startup performed at Indigo Demo Day this time is Kofera (breakthrough field of digital advertising), Kartoo (innovative online payment system), Sonar (analysis of the sentiment of social media), Minutes (business services personal), Carijasa (service technician), Package ID (broking services package), Trax Center (vehicle tracking), and Zellos (intermediary work for milineal generation).

“For ICN, Demo Day is a means to develop this program with the active participation of all parties. The follow-up can be a digital startup development cooperation with a more comprehensive coverage and participation,” said Indra.

As already known, Telkom through MDI Ventures has established not only in Southeast Asia but also in the region of Silicon Valley, precisely in Sunnyvalle, California. The opening of the door to Silicon Valley could not be separated from Telkom cooperation with the accelerator from the United States, Plug n Play (PNP). The opening of such access makes a clearer the way for Telkom to bring the best Indonesian digitalpreneur Indonesia to learn more from the world startup icon.

Indigo program will be developed with digital ecosystem that has been created by Telkom. It has become a primary concern for Telkom to continue to support the government program in Indonesia which spawned many local startups that is able to compete in the global arena.
